Tamper protection for anti-theft labels

2023-07-05

Anti-theft tags are an anti-theft device commonly used in commodity retail. To enhance its vandal protection features, there are several ways to do it:

Physical protection: Provide physical protection, such as using a strong shell material or adding a tamper-resistant design to increase the tag's resistance to damage and shear resistance. At the same time, when installing the label, choose a suitable position to fix it on the product to avoid vulnerable parts.

Sealed design: With sealed design, the anti-theft tag will be broken or damaged when it is forcibly opened or broken, causing an alarm. This prevents theft by destroying the tag itself.

Alarm mechanism: Anti-theft tags are usually connected to systems or equipment, and when the tags are damaged or attempted to be stolen, an alarm signal can be triggered. The alarm mechanism can be an audible alarm, flashing lights, or sending information to security personnel through wireless communication, etc.

Anti-tamper and anti-cut design: anti-tamper and anti-cut devices may be installed around the label, such as metal mesh cover, special material or anti-scissor structure, to increase the difficulty of destruction and time cost.

Electronic protection: Some anti-theft tags have electronic protection functions, such as RFID technology or electronic magnetic interference devices. These technologies can provide safer protection by detecting and identifying tags through electronic surveillance systems.

It is important to note that while various measures can be taken to improve the tamper protection of anti-theft tags, the means of theft are constantly evolving. Therefore, the comprehensive application of multiple anti-theft measures, combined with other security measures (such as video surveillance, security personnel patrolling, etc.), can improve the security of goods and reduce the risk of theft.
